Since 2003, the Community Market has been providing essential food to struggling families and individuals working toward self-sufficiency in Lee County, including Opelika, Auburn, Loachapoka, Salem, Smiths Station, and underserved communities in between.

In the past year alone,

the Community Market distributed more than 755,452 pounds to 5,365 unique individuals and are on track to surpass that in 2025.

Despite these efforts,

many low-income residents in Lee County—including senior citizens, veterans, working families, and victims of domestic violence—still face the risk of hunger every day.

Since opening,

the Community Market has distributed 17,600,680 pounds of food—the equivalent of 14.7 million meals! However, with success comes challenges, and we have now far exceeded the capacity of our current pantry space.
